IVF Day!

Today, on lucky day #22 (my favorite number) of September, was embryo transfer day for (hopefully) baby #2! There have been many shots and much preparation in the works for this blessed occasion. I don't know about Mark, but I pretty much had nothing but affirmative thoughts that it would take. I was open to perfect success the second time around, too. :-)

Yesterday, our doctors thawed four embryos. One of them didn't survive, and only two of them were recommended to be used in the transfer, based on their quality. So, to be safe, the doctors then thawed a couple more today, and one of those looked better than the other. We were told that if they only transferred two (like we did to get Karina), the likelihood of a pregnancy resulting was only 40%, but if we transferred three, that shot up to 60%. Without hesitation, Mark and I immediately agreed to transfer the three best ones (although the thought of possible scenarios was scary!).
I was happy and optimistic. This is about a half-hour after the transfer. That valium really mellowed me out!
